We know that starting a project comes with a lot of questions, and we’re here to make things as clear and straightforward as possible. From timelines and costs to materials and permits, we believe in open and honest communication every step of the way. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions we get. Eastman Construction is a fully licensed Class “A” builder in Virginia, allowing us to execute projects of any size.  We also hold both residential and commercial licenses.  We maintain all necessary insurances including liability and workman’s compensation.

While we do not provide design services in-house, we have established relationships with architects, interior designers, and draftsmen to ensure that the building meets the needs and preferences of our clients. We work closely with our clients and architects to create custom designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Our approach to project management is based on transparency and communication. We provide each customer with online access to our system that provides project status, invoices, and change orders. We keep our clients informed throughout the construction process and work closely with them to ensure that the project is completed in a timely fashion while managing the budget and expectations of the project.

We have worked with all the local agencies that provide the necessary permits for your project. We know how to file the paperwork and we will represent you throughout the project.

We assemble a team based on the needs of the project. You will have a single point of contact directly with Craig Eastman, who will put together the full project roadmap & plan, as well as ongoing project management & administrative activities. Depending on size and scope, we have close relationships with the best area subcontractors to provide things like electrical, plumbing, heating/air conditioning, and other specialized trades.

This varies by project.  We will work with customers and if necessary, their bank, to insure seamless execution of the project.  Our estimate and contract will outline the payment schedule for your project.

We maintain knowledge of all local building codes and have good relationships with all building officials. Craig will directly navigate the permit and inspection process throughout the project. You will be able to see the results of each required inspection through completion of the project.

Those are all included in our estimate and the project management process. We typically will include an allowance for certain materials and finishes (flooring, cabinets, fixtures, windows).  There are a wide array of choices and price points for many things. Craig will personally guide you though the process and introduce you to providers that we work with. As the customer, you are always welcome to recommend other suppliers if you have preferences.  

We take great pride in maintaining a clean and safe worksite.  We will remove all debris and leftover materials from the worksite and leave the project in “move in” condition.

Our team has extensive experience in constructing sustainable and eco-friendly buildings. We use energy-efficient materials and technologies to reduce the carbon footprint of the building and ensure that it is environmentally friendly.
